owl in the garden

This sweet little owl was made in the 1970s and was one of my grans collection, he has inspired a few designs for me. If you pop over to manilla made blog, there are some other lovely owls to see. Manilla made is a great design blog which is not only beautiful but Eco friendly too.

Celebrations

Our Anniversary yesterday inspired me to draw some champagne today ...after drinking some from our favourite glasses! These are 1930s Lalique glass....champagne never tastes better than when its sipped from one of these!!

Today my creation is a cake for my lovely hubby, as its our 6th wedding anniversary!

This is my stone illustration. Enjoyed doing this one. Ive also been doing some boys wear designs for my agent......cute monkeys in the jungle. Today its so lovely am off to the beach now, so may find more inspiration down there!

nice jug!

This week the girls and I went to visit a friend in the countryside. I always get inspired at her place, its very different to the seaside life we have here! A white jug found hanging from a white wall is just so simple and cool.

stone the crows!

Ive been working on a stripy stone illustration today for istock. Here's a photo of some of my other stones. My Gran used to love polishing the stones she found, she had a special machine. We used to amble on the beach at Frinton collecting nice ones. Now I have her collection. Some of the most shiny ones here were polished by her!

Well, can proudly say my first 3 images are now on istock!! Actually they aren't showing up in my portfolio until tomorrow, so patience!! Will have to link to the blog now, which Ive been really hoping to do for ages. Lets hope for some downloads!!!

istock approval!

Hooray Ive finally been approved as an Istock contributor!! Third time lucky eh! Here's one of the illustrations that was approved. I'm so pleased. Now I have to upload my 3 approved files and from then on should start building up my illustration portfolio! Its still not all plain sailing as each illustration I upload needs individual approval. But hey, my foots in the door!!

It finally seems like spring has arrived! Heres a spring/ summer design I sold through my agent last year, so it should be in the shops somewhere now....... over in the states I expect. Copyright to the buyer of this one.

website pages

With the help of my brilliant and brainy brother my website now has its textile design section live on line. Im really pleased with it. Now we just have to get the graphics and illustration pages done. My brother assures my its great practice for his programming skills!

butterfly brooch

Ive been doing textile designs this week, for my agent in New york, boys wear things mainly and I'm using illustrator all the time for them now, and love it.

Last week I made this little butterfly brooch for my etsy shop. I think if I don't sell anything with etsy I should have a stall somewhere to sell my things locally. I will persevere more with it though, this is just early days for kitty stitch!
